Ultra Race Romania is brought to you by two ultra runners friends who raced multi-stage self sufficient races all over the world in the past years. Taking on a multi-day ultra in a remote corner of the Earth is one of the greatest experiences someone can do. The sense of achievement you feel after crossing the finish line of each stage, the good stories to be told between the fellow competitors each night by the campfire, make such an event really unique. The journey of each competitor to the finish line might be a personal one, each one fighting his own demons, but what remains at the end of it is an experience of a lifetime and most of all, true friendships.
The format of the race is running / walking / crawling 250km in 6 stages (7 days) in a part of Romania with beautiful green landscapes, where the legends of the past are still a way of living and the blend of history, culture and the beauty of the nature makes it a must do on one runner’s bucket list.

The event will take place in Buzău area, which crosses the south-eastern curvature of the Carpathian Mountains. Some of the areas that the ultra-marathoners will have to cross are: The Eagles Lake a place full of mystery, Cașoca the waterfall of treasures, Princess Lera of Chiojdu Valley, Luana’s Country and the Gate of God, The Mud Volcanoes and The Living Stones.
A road book will be compiled from the track team who is going to map the course. The exact course will remain secret and will only be revealed at the time of distributing the road books on August 9th 2020. It will include various items of interest on the stages, support, etc. Do expect not to be easy.
In the meantime you can check out the trailer! For details about the landmarks that could be seen on the course and the legends surrounding the area, please check out the Legends page. Each morning a briefing will be held relating to that day’s stage by the organizers.
